Originally streamed on Feb. 13th, the Professor sits down with an adult beverage to talk live about the new BFT47 from Century Arms, and bayonets.
Do you own a semi-auto AK-47/AKM rifle? How old is that gun? Was it built from an imported parts kit? Depending on how you answer those questions, you need to take five minutes and watch this video.
Your semi-automatic, completely civilian legal AKM rifle might have a “full-auto” style Safety/Selector lever installed in it. If this is the case, there is a chance that the rifle could discharge without you pressing the trigger.
The good news is that there is an easy way to identify this potential hazard and an inexpensive way to fix it.
We test out the new VP12, a 12 gauge, AK-style, semi-automatic shotgun from SDS Imports. During our testing we will feed the VP12 a variety of 12 gauge ammunition from lightweight field loads to heavier recoiling 00 buckshot and slugs. We will also use both standard 2 and ¾ as well as 3 inch shells.
The VP12 is fed via 5 round magazines and the controls very closely mimic those of the AKM or Kalashnikov guns. This semi-auto gun has an adjustable gas system and an externally threaded barrel to allow the installation of a muzzle brake, should the shooter desire.
Some might say that the VZ-58 is the Czech answer to the AK. They were both developed during the Cold War in the Soviet Union and both rifles chamber the 7.62x39mm cartridge. That, however, is where the similarities come to an end.
Professor Paul has a VZ-58 “Victor” model with a side-folding stock evaluate and review for you. Is the VZ-58 a better gun than the AK-47? Are they pals, enemies, or rivals? Watch this video and decide for yourself.

We are experiencing a crisis in education, people, young and old, do not seem to know how to rack their weights when they have finished using them. Fear not, we are here to help.
Jarrad Markel will offer an easy to follow video tutorial explaining and demonstrating how to put the weights back on the rack in a public gym so they are ready for other people to use them. We are pleased to offer the public service.
Professor Paul has a quick gear checklist for anyone who is preparing to attend a firearms training school. We will consider a number of obvious and not so obvious items and discuss why they are important.
When you get to a gun school, you want to be able to focus on learning not on gear problems. This video should put you ahead of the game and help you make the most of your time on the range.

A mother in Texas was forced to protect her children from a man who broke into her house. The home invader ignored warnings from the woman and fled after he was shot. We will discuss that and more during our SOTG Homeroom from CrossBreed Holsters.

Professor Paul teamed up with Readyman and Juxxi for a Battlbox Mission 92 unboxing video. We will examine the Basic through Pro Plus Battlbox gear offering. Are you ready to step off into the wilderness?
The month’s Mission includes something sharp that folds and something sharp that does not. There is something to sleep on and something to camouflage your gear from a perspective of sight and scent. Also, there is something that launches sharp and pointy things.
The Pimphand of America broke out his guitar and jammed out in the spirit of the season.

Professor Paul is back with another BattlBox review. This one is Mission 93 and he will take the gear out into the snow and test it out. We have an Uberleben fire starter and backpack stove, axe wax and a Skatchet, Holtzman Gorillas Survival Knife and a Hiker Medic kit from MyMedic.
A big thanks to www.Readyman.com and www.BattlBox.com for giving us the opportunity to review this gear.
As you would expect, the ARX100 is semi-automatic and has a 16 inch barrel with a true 5.56mm NATO chamber. The muzzle device is a NATO-style flash hider/muzzle brake. By using a great deal of high-strength polymer and aluminum, as well as steel where needed, Beretta was able to keep the empty weight relatively low at only 6.8 pounds. For a full-sized rifle this is exceptional. By comparison, the empty weight for the Colt M16A2 is 7.5 pounds.
The operation for this rifle is a short-stroke, gas piston. One of the features that the Beretta engineers built into the rifle was “the lightweight technopolymer receiver allows for reliable operation with virtually no lubricants.” The old Marine in me cringes at the thought of running a dry rifle, but I appreciate the idea of deliberately minimizing metal and metal contact to reduce friction.
All of the manual controls on the ARX100 are built to be ambidextrous. I suppose the only feature that is not “ambi” is the side folding stock which both retracts and folds to the right side of the receiver. The charging handle for the bolt can be set up so that it is accessed either from the left side of the receiver or the right. As you might expect, Italy, being a NATO member, required the ARX160 to use the STANAG 5.56mm aluminum magazine. The ARX100 followed suit. The magazine release is ambidextrous.
The BattlBox Mission 94 theme would seem to be adventures on the road and illumination. There are numerous products from Rhino USA for your car, truck, or SUV. There are illumination tools from Paleblue, POD LED, and UCO.
Naturally, there is something sharp in the Pro Plus box; a Civivi Brazen flipper pocket knife with a Damascus blade. Listen louder for our review of this box filled with tremendously useful gear.
A big thanks to www.Readyman.com and www.BattlBox.com for giving us the opportunity to review this gear.
When we talk about the Bug Out Bag, the first question needs to be; where are you going? Or, what do you plan to do when you get to where you are going?
Professor Paul has some recommendations for gear that should go into a Big Bug Out Bag (BBOB). We will address the basic needs; Water, Food, Shelter, Warmth, Comfort, and Medical Gear - www.shopsotg.com
No news outlet is perfect, far from it. And FOX News had on one of the dumbest "Experts" in history to discuss everyone's favorite topic: Gun Control

No one will argue that the Smith & Wesson Shield pistol is compact enough to easily be carried concealed. However, there seems to be a question as to whether or not it is accurate beyond close range.
Professor Paul took his personal Shield 2.0 chambered in .45 ACP and outfitted with Night Fision Accu8 Tritium sights to the range for an accuracy test. Can this compact EDC gun be relied upon to make headshots at 15 yards? How about hits at 25 yards?
