This is another part to the test and evaluation of the Henry H015-223, but it is also the start of the T&E of the Skinner 1-6X24 scope. Skinner's peep sight has always been a favorite, so this new addition to the Skinner product line up is going to be very interesting, and what better gun to test it on that the Henry single shot firing 223 ammo. The actual shooting with the scope will be in the next part.

Refurbishing Old Rifle Stock

My old Remington 514 had a varnish that was becoming so gummy that you couldn't place it in a gun case or cover it with a silicone storage sock without it sticking hard. So, I started doing some research on how to restore it, and if possible, us linseed oil as a finish like I do with my Henry rifles.

Ruger American with CVLife Compact Scope

This is part 3 of the test and evaluation of the Ruger American. We are using a CVLife Compact 3-9x40 scope, which is also being tested at the same time. CCI Quiet 22 and Standard Velocity ammunition is used for firing. In a future part we will be using higher velocity ammo.

The magazine release problem discussed in prior parts of this rifle's T&E was mentioned again in the respect of it not getting any better with use.

Colibri vs Pellet

This is a comparison of Aguila Colibri to a standard pellet for sound, impact and accuracy. This is NOT the Super Colibri, but the standard, which is much more like a pellet, and not recommended for anything over a 22 revolver. However, for testing I'm using an old Remington single shot Model 514. For an air rifle an Umarex NXG multi pump is used with 4 pumps to fire a .177 Sig Sauer pellet.

This is a tip on how to setup the Do-All Outdoors Knock Out self healing targets so that they are not stuck in the ground. This idea was taken from one that airgunner Doc Mac Kay of Canada spoke with me about sometime back. He was using it for empty C02 bottles to shoot at. We use the Ruger American 22 bolt action rifle to test how they stand up in the 2x4 used.
