For years I've had some of my best fishing during hot weather, and between the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. On this day I did well in 90-plus degree weather fishing weed beds with a Blitz Pro Spin and Natural Forage Baits Swim Bait. While there is no actual fishing in this video, I do explain how I approach fishing in hot weather.
This time around with the Slide N Glide worm some different ways were found to fish the plastic worm with the hollow middle area. It was Texas rigged with an XPoint worm hook, and rigged on a Daiichi Butt Dragger. Next time it will be fished with the included insert weights that go inside of the hollow area.
This video was filmed about an hour after Don Banning had given me a couple of packs of the new Slide N Glide worm. So, I decided to film and give it a try at the same time, in an area where the fishing has been a bit tough. Hot weather and scattered thunderstorms greeted Pepper and me at the lake. At the end Pepper says his own way of closing the video without barking.

Kick N Bass sent in a new products to be field tested. This video is the first time out with the items. There are three different types of attractants in liquid and paste, which I used on a Custom Jigs & Spins Wolfinkee and Team Crappie Slab Caller.
I carry several different B'n'M spinning rod outfits in identical Plano Guide Series rod cases. Grabbing one quickly can be take a chance unless you use the ID window to label the cases contents. Here we discuss that, plus a little more about the case itself.
I've been telling you all about a new product line up coming in 2021 for Jiffy Ice Drills. Well here is the first installment.

Blitz Lures, famous for their Spyder Jig, Blade and Phrog series of lures, has now decided to try their hands with ice fishing jigs. This is only an experiment, so there had limited numbers available. It it takes off then there is a possibility that it will be a permanent part of the Blitz line up.
In this episode we are fishing for bluegills through the ice, and giving tips on identifying fish and baits on the Vexilar flasher unit. There also other tips given along the way. Sorry about the flasher unit motor noise, but inside of a shelter and a microphone pointed in the direction of the flasher is not the best of situations.
This is the basics of rigging a plastic worm Texas style. While we are using Natural Forage Baits worms, the technique will work with any plastic worm, as it has for many years, starting with the first straight tail worm on the market, when they were known as "rubber worms".
In this episode of Dan's Fish 'N' Tales® we had Roxanne Croegaert of Croegaert's Great Outdoors in Rock Island, IL. Roxanne was showing up different types of tents and how to select one. She also made a Dutch Apple Cobbler in a Dutch Oven over an open fire. This show was filmed in 1998.
This video is in regards to using the Plano Edge Crankbait Box for Rat-L-Traps. Other lures are mentioned, but it will be explained as to why I prefer it for Rat-L-Traps. It is also demonstrated on how the box holds the lures in place, even if dropped or knocked over.
These are a group of photos that I acquired while Brad Mosier and I co-produced The World of Virgil Ward, which is a documentary for airing on PBS affiliates. The photos range from when the legendary Virgil Ward was a child to when he was in his retirement years. Other photos included are during the production of the documentary, which you can see in full on the Dan's Fish 'N' Tales® channel. The link for which is https://www.full30.com/v/starchy-point-ZKh6R.
In this video we discuss the waterproof system of the Plano Edge. It is also demonstrated by placing the box in a bucket of water and letting it soak while talking about how the different boxes had progressed to this new gasket system.
Don't cut off the little display tap on your stowaway tackle box until you see this tip. A gentleman relayed how they helped him set up a very good storage idea in his tackle room, which can also be applied to sheds and basements - wherever you store tackle in this sort of box.
In this show that Brad Mosier and I filmed on the Mississippi River we were fishing an exposed lateral wing dam, which was recently installed near the main channel for catfish. This was in the mid-1990's, and not long afterwards a major flood started the deterioration of this wing dam, which is now completely gone.
This was an episode suggested by people to start a new series called "Pepper and the Fishing Guy". From time to time there will be more of these where it is just me and Pepper out for a day of fishing. Nothing special, just fishing to see what we will catch. Pepper's favorite it the bluegill. Maybe because it is more of his size. Until we get a regular series these, as I said, will be a periodic episode of Dan's Fish 'N' Tales®.
One of the most popular knots that I've tied on TV and in seminars has been the King Sling loop knot. People have come up after seminars to ask if I would show them one on one. It is an excellent know to use for horizontal ice jigs for ice and open water seasons. It can also be used on lures where a split ring to quick clip is used to give freedom of action, such as a crankbait. In this video I try to show how to tie this knot.
This episode of Dan's Fish 'N' Tales® was filmed in the early 90's. Brad Mosier was my cameraman, and the camera boat operator was his Dad, Ken Mosier. Fishing was pretty good, with some nice tournament size keepers.
This episode of Dan's Fish 'N' Tales® was filmed by HQ Productions in the early 90's. The company has been gone for many years, and its owner has passed on. My cameraman was "The Voice of the Midwest", Dave Whiskeyman, who was well known for his work in radio and voice dubs for television and commercials. Dave has also passed on, as has my Dad, Claude "Andy" Galusha, who was the camera boat operator. My guest was Keith Lundahl, owner of Lundahl Lures, which made the famous Pops Topwater Spoon. The company was sold, and shortly afterwards went out of business. The last I heard of Keith he was in a care facility. So, this show brings back a lot of memories of friendship, father and working associates.
Blitz Lures, makers of the Blade, SJ1, Phrog, and Spyder Jig, has added something new to the line - Tungsten ice jigs. They are being sold in kits of 24. Here we introduce their first offering to the market.
Plano's Z-Series has several different waterproof models, but the large Duffel Bag has a ton of uses. Some of those are discussed in this video, where I'm showing it used as a bag for my video equipment, including carrying two tripods and a mono pod, with everything else needed. Even with all of that there is still room for more, and best of all it will keep anything inside dry.
